| The green grid is offset from the surface of the product to create a surface for the button edges. It controls how far the buttons protrude from the product. It is a translated surface made by sweeping or sliding one curve along another curve. These curves are created in SolidWorks. The magenta ellipses (2 are visible) are the button outlines created in SolidWorks and lying on their construction plane. These are projected along with their centerpoints onto the green surface. Then, the centerpoints are offset a specific distance, or projected onto another offset surface, to control the height of the button's dome. A SurfaceWorks "blister" surface (there are 16 types of SurfaceWorks blisters) is constructed (shown in blue) from these elements. Moving, reshaping or resizing any of the SolidWorks components regenerates the SurfaceWorks surfaces. |
